Home of the Floyd County Merged Fire Protection Districts of Lafayette Township an Greenville Townships.

Our Fire District is located 6 miles Northwest from Louisville, Kentucky and serves 60 square miles in Floyd County in Southern Indiana.

The HIghlander Fire Protection District is a growing blend of urban and rural area , creating a unique community.

The fire department’s 50 firefighters and emergency medical technicians answer calls throughout the community from 2 staffed fire stations and 2 call- in/volunteer fire stations strategically located to provide the fastest response possible.

We strive to provide the best service that we possibly can to the community and citizens we serve.
