The Highlander Fire Protection District is a growing blend of urban and rural areas, creating a unique community.
The fire department’s 50 firefighters and emergency medical technicians answer calls throughout the community from 2 staffed fire stations and 2 call-in/volunteer fire stations, strategically located to provide the fastest possible response. We strive to provide the best service possible to the community and citizens we serve.
Highlander Fire Protection District covers a vast area and regularly responds on automatic aid to neighboring communities. The service area is much larger than it was when the original fire department, Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department, was established in 1958.
Highlander Fire Protection District serves the Townships of Lafayette and Greenville, as well as the town of Greenville.
